Interested in selling and distributing your products in the province of British Columbia?
All beverage alcohol products sold in British Columbia must be imported or supplied by a local agent or supplier licensed by the BC Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) in Victoria. For more information, please contact the LCLB at http://www.hsd.gov.bc.ca/lclb/ or by phone toll-free at 1-866-209-2111. Please note that licences are approved only when the applicant obtains a product registration approval from the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) in compliance with the Liquor Distribution Act.
The LDB registers all beverage alcohol products for general sale and distribution in BC. To sell or 'list' liquor products in government liquor stores (BC Liquor Stores), you are required to submit an additional Listing application. Products approved for listing in BC Liquor Stores depend on various criteria and a product that is registered in BC does not guarantee distribution through the government liquor store (BC Liquor Stores) network.
For more information, please obtain a package of information on LDB policy and procedures for listing; please send an email request with your mailing address to ldbagentinfo@bcldb.com.
*Agent refers to the person or company appointed by the manufacturer/producer/supplier to act as its agent in BC. Supplier refers to the manufacturer, producer or distributor of the liquor and is the seller of the liquor to the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).
For products manufactured outside of Canada (i.e. imported), the LDB will purchase through the BC agency authorized by the manufacturer to represent them. Where the product is produced or manufactured in Canada, the LDB may purchase directly with the supplier.
